Alopecea Totalis

Some people lose all the hair on their head (alopecia totalis) or all the hair on their body (alopecia universalis). Alopecia areata affects about 2 out of 100 people, and it can occur at any age. It is common to have more than one episode of hair loss, and many experience it for the first time as a child or young adult.

Treatment

There are no known treatments that can restore hair other than hair prostheses (toupees, wigs).

Will the hair grow back?

Hair rarely grows back with this condition of Alopecia Totalis.
